ROUND AND HEART FACE SHAPE

It is very easy to find a hairstyle for a round face shape and a heart face shape. If you have a heart face shape your the goal is to make the forehead appear more narrow. Most hairstyles look good as long as you use some sort of bang whether it be a forward heavy bang or a side bang. Using bangs will cut the line of the forehead off making it appear not as wide.

Using bangs to cover your head like this will make your face appear to be oval which is the goal!






Here we have a hairstyle that doesn't have bangs but it works because the hair is parted way over on the side. the line of the hair is cutting off the width of the forehead.

Hairstyles to stay away from:

Exposing your forehead all the way like in this picture will show off the width of the forehead.

If you have a round face shape what you need to do is try to find styles the elongate your face shape.

Short hair is tricky when you have a round face shape. However, this style would work because the length is just longer then the chin and the style itself is more square looking. This would look great and it would draw the eye down making the face look longer and more narrow.

Longer styles look the best on people with a round face shape. Most long hairstyles would work. Just stay away from heavy bangs because those will cut the face off even more making it appear really small.

If your going short make sure the length is longer or shorter then your chin. If your going shorter make sure there is some sort of poof on top elongating the face shape.

This is an example of a short haircut that would work. the poof on the top makes the face look longer.

Hairstyles to stay away from:

curly, short hair is a no no. The curls make the face appear round.

This long hairstyle would normally work but the way it's curled around her chin will make it look round. If you have a longer style try to leave the layers longer then the chin.

Haircuts that end right near the chin shorten the face shape making it appear even more round.

this style really hugs the face and enhances the roundness.

*Remember also that if you are doing what I have written not to do, its OK! These are just helpful hints. Be creative and have fun with your hair I don't want anyone to feel limited. I encourage trying new things because in doing so you may discover something you absolutely LOVE. I just think it is helpful to know your face shape and understand what styles might look the best!
